The Art Garden has been awarded a Cultural Facilities Grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

This $142,000 grant requires a 1:1 match.

Over 15 years, The Art Garden has supported our community through after-school programming, FREE intergenerational open studio times, pop-up workshops, community exhibits, large scale community art-making events, &&&.

This expansion will mean more space for programming, supplies, and creative connection within our community.

We’ve met the match!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community we successfully raised $142,000!
These funds cover the first phase of construction which will allow us to open the expanded space. Now on to Phase 2...!

Saturday, Feb 7th

ARTIST WORKSHOP:

BIRDS OF RESISTANCE

with local artist Reed Sparrow.

Reed built a flock of cardboard protest birds in 2017 using words like “Resist,” “Organize,” and “Keep Loving”. The Art Garden installed the original flock at our 2017 Winter HooPla and we feel now is time to create a brand new flock.

This workshop can accommodate 12 people ages 12 and up,

we ask that minors be accompanied by an adult.

This is a pay-what-you-can workshop.

The Art Garden will provide all the materials for building your own bird. These birds are being created to install at this year’s Winter HooPla so we ask that all birds be painted black with the word(s) of your choosing painted in white.

We will email you times to pick up your bird the week after the Winter HooPla.
